Battery Back-Up units

Beds are supplied as standard with a powerful low-noise non-battery-back-up motor which is hard-wired to a handset.

Power cuts are thankfully very rare these days. However, they do occur and as our beds are electrically powered, normal performance will be affected in the event of a general power failure.

Motors including battery-back-up facility (for short-term continued emergency operation when there is a general power failure) with a hard-wired handset are available as an additional option.

If you require total peace of mind for the event of power cuts, we can supply fully rechargeable battery back-up units which, when fully charged (in normal use they are permanently in-line and “on charge”) will provide enough power to raise and lower a bed mechanism some 30-40 times.

Please note that battery back-ups require specially adapted motors; if you are planning to order a battery back-up unit we recommend that you do so at the same time you order your bed - if you add a battery back-up unit after you have taken delivery of your bed, a new replacement specially adapted motor will also be required.
